Our culture inherently discourages this. From an early age we’re taught to “fit in,” to do “what’s right” and “what’s expected” - directives that keep many of us from discovering our true passions and talents.
Most people seek out their “places”: positions of respect, status and comfort. The met creative, successful and content people I’ve known have all thought in terms of their “paths.” They’ve learned to follow their passions wherever they may lead.
